I was born in 1982 in Denmark – more specifically in the city Esbjerg in the western part of Jutland. Following my high school graduation from Esbjerg Statsskole in 2002, I spent one year working and six months travelling (India, Nepal and Sri Lanka) before I moved to Copenhagen in the spring of 2004. In September 2004 I started studying psychology at the University of Copenhagen. I delivered my bachelor’s thesis in June of 2007 and became a bachelor of psychology. As part of my master’s degree in psychology I studied for one year at Dartmouth College in an exchange program between the University of Copenhagen and Dartmouth. During this exchange I became involved with research in human vision in the lab of Professor Peter Tse. I really liked working with Peter, and found the topic extremely interesting, so in the spring of 2008 I applied to graduate school at Dartmouth’s Psychology and Brain Sciences department, with Peter Tse as my advisor. I started as a graduate student in the fall of 2008, working with attention and consciousness as well as vision.
